‘Unifying moment for Australia’: Dutton backs Indigenous constitutional recognition

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has expressed his support for the constitutional recognition of Indigenous people despite being against the Voice to Parliament.

“I think 80% of Australians would vote YES [for a constitutional recognition]”, Dutton explained.

He emphasised the importance of providing Australian people with the facts and allowing them to make up their minds based on that information.

In response to the Voice referendum, Dutton said: “We are on a path to absolute division”.
