NSW Premier Chris Minns is proposing lifetime or long-term bans for spectators involved in violent altercations at sports events.

Minister for Sports Steve Kamper defended the action on Drive with Chris O’Keefe.

Kamper emphasised that this was a “strong campaign [of] promoting positive behavior and changing the culture in sport”.

Chris O’Keefe challenged Kamper on the enforcement capabilities, the protection of volunteers when confronting banned spectators and the logistics surrounding the ban.
