Cronulla Sharks head coach Craig Fitzgibbon has weighed in on halfback Nicho Hynes and whether he is ready for an Origin call up.

Fitzgibbon was asked about Hynes on 2GB’s Wide World of Sports with NSW Origin coach Brad Fittler co-hosting, and backed in Hynes to step up if selected.

“I don’t think he’d let anyone down,” Fitzgibbon said.
