Geologist from Melbourne University Professor Ian Plimer questions why we the public should pay for feelgood politics around renewables when what we really need is reliable and cheaper power. He believes we now live in a cleaner and better Australia so why should we change that and go back to a pre-industrialized system. Michael comments that the transition to renewables comes at a cost of 7-9 trillion dollars but it’s meant to be the cheaper option. How does that work?
