An Independent MP has shared her desperate plea.

20-year-old Declan Laverty was fatally stabbed on Sunday evening.

Independent MP in the Northern Territory told Ben Fordham her heart aches for the family and violence in Darwin is a “real problem”.

“It’s the worst news any mother could get,” she said,

“The whole territory is reeling, and this useless Labor government up here won’t admit there is a problem up here.”
