The NRL CEO revealed he will not apologise for the drama over independent doctors because it’s a team effort. 

Andrew Abdo has addressed the contentious debate surrounding head injury assessments and informed irate coaches and players that “we have a policy”.

The CEO told Mark Levy and Shane Flanagan, “my frustration is that the policy is not well understood based on some of the comments made”.

“It’s a team effort, we have a club doctor on the field and have the independent doctor looking at multiple camera angles using technology to identify potential indicators when there’s a head injury assessment.”
