Department of Education responds to Wieambilla killer documents being withheld

Mark Levy

Ray Hadley has received a response from Sarah Mitchell after NSW Education refused to release documents relating to one of the gunmen who killed two police officers in Queensland.

Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell’s statement

“I expect the Department of Education to cooperate fully and share all available information with Queensland Police as part of their investigation into this tragic incident.”

“As the investigation continues, we must respect the legal process.”

“GIPA requests are determined by the Department of Education on a case by case basis. They are separate to any Police investigation that may be occurring.”

“He is dead, so, of course, he can’t agree or deny the request!” Ray said.
