Chris O’Keefe has slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for saying the Morrison government allowed an alcohol ban to lapse in Alice Springs.

The Prime Minister said that the ban had “lapsed before the new parliament sat after the election” on Sky News.

It comes after increasing calls to introduce to an alcohol ban to curb the violence that is gripping the region.

“So it’s Scott Morrison’s fault? Former government’s fault? Nothing to see here,” Chris said on 2GB Drive.

“Not Anthony Albanese and the federal labor government’s fault that the alcohol ban lapsed.

“It lapsed in July, he became Prime Minister in May.

“I couldn’t believe that, when I heard that from the Prime Minister, he’s better than that”.
