A mass swimming teacher shortage is leaving parents upset as their kids miss out on vital water skills.

General staff shortages have created long waitlists for classes in some areas.

Brendon Ward, CEO of Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers, told Deborah Knight it’s an issue that hasn’t improved since last September.

“We tried to reach out to the NSW Government – to no response,” he said.

“Something needs to be done, it’s just not fair.”
