Endangered regent honeyeaters receiving singing lessons

Keepers at Taronga Zoo hope singing lessons could help save an endangered bird.

Young regent honeyeaters have been imitating the mating call of other species – because there aren’t enough adult males left to teach them their own.

BirdLife Australia’s Sean Dooley told John Stanley they’re using a 16-hour recording to help the young birds pick-up the song.
