Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy Ted O’Brien has slammed the latest Labor plans on energy.

Gas prices will be capped for a year, while New South Wales and Queensland will cap the price of coal

Households and small businesses will also be offered a discount on their power bills.

Labor will get its entire package over the line with the support of the Greens and independents.

Mr O’Brien told Mark Levy the deal is “Ideological idiocy”.

“The Australian taxpayer will now fund an amount of money that nobody else knows about except Anthony Albanese.”

“It will make Australia poorer and weaker.”
