Cricket great Shane Warne and champion runner Ron Clarke have been elevated in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Warne, who died earlier this year, and Clarke, who died in 2015, have been given “legend” status, the Hall of Fame announced tonight.

Warne was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2009 as an athlete member, praised for transforming and popularising the art of leg-spin bowling, taking 708 wickets from his 145 Tests.

Sport Australian Hall of Fame Chairman John Bertrand joined Luke Grant to talk about the process when deciding who is eligible to enter the Hall of Fame.
