Former Labor MP Michael Danby is calling for a change in China.

Mass protests are sweeping across the country as thousands are demonstrating against harsh COVID lockdowns.

Mr Danby told Chris Smith “China is stuck in the past”, and the lockdown rules need to change immediately.

“We’re so fortunate here in Australia in comparison.”
