The grace period for registering for a Director Identification Number has been extended.

People were required to register by December 1 or face a fine of $13,000.

It’s believed up to 700,000 people are yet to sign up, with the grace period extended to December 14.

Financial Services Minister Stephen Jones told Mark Levy he’s asked the Commissioner to show restraint amid ongoing issues.

“If one of your listeners have been trying … of course there’ll be some grace provided in those circumstances.”
