Harsher penalties to be introduced for dumping trolleys
Harsher penalties are being introduced for businesses who allow trolleys to clutter public spaces.
The strengthened laws come into effect next week, and mean supermarkets and other businesses which don’t collect trolleys face up to $1300 for each offence, up from $220.
Pedestrian Council CEO Harold Scruby told Jim Wilson the penalties need to be even higher.
