Rishi Sunak faces challenge of fixing Britain’s cratering economy

Rishi Sunak will become Britain’s third prime minister in just three months, after winning the Conservative Party’s leadership.

He is the youngest holder of the job in more than 200 years, and the first ethnically Asian leader of the increasingly diverse United Kingdom.

Nine News reporter Brett Mcleod told Jim Wilson the former Chancellor has a big challenge ahead to fix a broken economy.

“Rishi Sunak is a more popular choice in the Conservative Party, but he is facing enormous economic problems.”
