Jim Wilson has slammed ‘selfish and self entitled’ Australian netballers after a $15m sponsorship deal with Hancock Prospecting was ripped up.

Players believed Hancock’s values didn’t align with those of the team.

“Seriously, these athletes are so terribly selfish,” Jim Wilson said.

“This is a classic case of go woke, go broke.”

Netball Australia’s CEO has responded to the crucial funding being pulled from the organisation.

Kelly Ryan told Jim Wilson it was a brilliant deal they had with Hancock.

“The funding was very important in retaining our world number one status and investing in our high performance program.”

The CEO maintains the sport will still be able to continue without the money, but it will be a massive blow.
