The price of puppies and kittens would skyrocket under a new bill supported by the NSW Labor party.

Labor has voted in favour of a joint Greens-Animal Justice Party bill in the upper house to limit pet shops to only sell rehomed cats and dogs.

NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham told Ray Hadley the move would lead to the closure of a lot of pet shops.

“This bill is an abomination … it’s going to send dog and cat prices through the roof for the purebreds.
