Dozens of students heading to US space camp in hospital after Melbourne bus crash

Ben Fordham

A group of school children who have been involved in a bus crash north-west of Melbourne had been on their way to space camp in the United States.

The bus carrying 27 students rolled 20 metres down an embankment after being hit by a truck at Bacchus Marsh in the early hours of the morning.

One teenage girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The other students, four adults onboard, and the bus driver, will be taken to hospital for observation.

A listener called into Ben Fordham Live to tell him her granddaughter was on the bus.

“They were on their way to the airport to go to America for space camp.

“It’s been cancelled once due to COVID and now I don’t think they’ll go at all.”
