30km/h speed camera placed to enforce ‘pedestrian friendly’ driving

Chris O'Keefe

The 30km/h speed limit “cash grabs” have now hit the area of Helensburgh.

On Walker and Parkes Streets at Helensburgh, the change has been in effect since the 29th of August.

“I’ve spoken to locals who are scratching their heads at the change, given there have not be any fatal accidents in the township, nor really any issues at all with hoons or speeding near the shopping precinct,” Chris O’Keefe said.

Member for Heathcote Lee Evans told Chris the camera is in place to make the area a “pedestrian friendly zone”.
