‘We haven’t learnt a thing’: Hospital’s visitation rules under fire

BEN FORDHAM EXCLUSIVE

Visitation rights at a Sydney hospital are under fire.

93-year-old Eric is being treated at Ryde Hospital after suffering a minor stroke.

Patients are only allowed to have the same two people visit during their entire stay.

Shane wants his newborn daughter to meet her great-grandfather Eric.

But the hospital won’t even let him see her through a window.

“We have not learnt a thing from COVID,” he told Ben Fordham.

“This isolation and the lack of care that he’s getting from the people that love him the most, that’s going to be the thing that puts him underground.”
