A video inside the “mess” area of a RAAF Base at Wagga Wagga has revealed shocking conditions.

A mouse can be seen running around where the trainees and recruits eat their meals.

However, there are claims it’s not an isolated incident, with reports of a two-year struggle between management and members over the hygiene of the mess.

“I’m hoping that the bosses of the Defence Force can see the video and ask themselves a simple question: Do our Defence Force recruits deserve better than this?”

Defence force recruits have since shared other images. One shows maggots on a piece of chicken while another captures a cockroach on a cooked meal.
