‘Lift your game!’: Jim Wilson criticises Treasurer’s economy speech

Jim Wilson has slammed the new Treasurer for playing “football politics”.

Australians are being warned there will be tough times ahead with inflation rising but there is confidence Australia won’t fall into recession.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers says inflation will likely peak above seven per cent by the end of the year. It then won’t normalise until 2025.

He also stated the increase in the minimum wage isn’t causing inflation to rise but rather instead identifying global instability and supply constraints.

Jim wasn’t impressed with the political pot-shots at today’s address within Parliament.

“The time has come for Jim Chalmers to grow up and start acting like the Treasurer.

“Enough of the game playing Treasurer, the world is hard right now.

“Lift your game and start governing.”
