The Shrine of Remembrance will be lit up rainbow on Sunday in tribute to the service of LGBTQI+ members of the Australian Defence Force.

The illumination coincides with the beginning of an exhibition: Defending with Pride.

“I’m not convinced that the Shrine of Remembrance should be used as a billboard,” Ben Fordham said.

“It’s for one thing and one thing only and that’s recognising ALL of the men and women who went to war.”

Retired Special Forces Commando Heston Russell has told Ben Fordham in a statement, “The Shrine should not be lit up in any colours at any time except for commemorative services. This is all a bit bloody crazy”.
