Virgin flight passengers have been thrust into chaos and uncertainty with numerous flights cancelled due to staff absenteeism. 

The rise in covid and influenza cases are said to be partly responsible for the staff shortage.

The cancellations have been the subject of anger and angst across social media today.

Aviation writer at The Australian, Robyn Ironside joined Luke Grant on Drive with the details.

“Sydney airport is always hardest hit because 40% of the domestic flights go through there,” she said.
