Labour shortage crisis: Local cafe pays for highway billboard to advertise job
A local cafe has made the desperate measure of advertising a job on a billboard on a major Sydney highway.
Staff shortages is crippiling the hospitality industry and many are on the brink of collapse because they simply cannot find workers.
‘Bay Ten’ cafe has struggled to hire a head chef for months and is now resorting to advertising the job on a multiple billboards along the M2 as you head into the Lane Cove Tunnel.
Kristy Bannister from ‘Bay Ten’ cafe told Chris Smith desperate times call for desperate measures.
“It’s not something that we would have done if we didn’t have to,” she said.
