The Kokoda Trail Memorial Walkway in Concord has been met with an empty promise.

Earlier this year the Labor candidate for Reid Sally Sitou, promised she would provide the memorial with 4 years of funding.

Ms Sitou appeared at an event in April and announced $186,000 in funding every year for 4 years.

Now the Reid candidate says there will be $186,000 in funding for the first year and nothing else planned for the other three years,

The other $558,000 that she promised has now disappeared.

Board Member of the Kokoda Trail War Memorial in Sydney Craig Laundy told Chris Smith it is incredibly disappointing.

“The budget situation is far worse than they anticipated.”
