Calls for clinical guidelines to be reviewed after startling prostate cancer findings

Mark Levy

Shocking research has shown prostate cancer has overtaken breast cancer as the most common cancer in Australia.

The findings are being labeled as a wake-up call for all men to get checked by their local doctor.

Medical professionals have raised concern about the nation’s capacity to care for the growing number of patients diagnosed.

The number of prostate cancer diagnoses has surged by 34 per cent.

Prostate Cancer of Australia’s Head of Research Jeff Dunn told Mark Levy the startling figures show Australia’s clinical guidelines need to be reviewed.

“This is a critical point of men’s health in Australia.”
