Musical highlights how 9/11 made Gander into a tourist destination

The ‘Come From Away’ musical tells the remarkable true story of thousands of stranded passengers who were grounded in Gander, Newfoundland in Canada in the wake of the September 11 tragedy.

7,000 air passengers were diverted to the small community that welcomed the ‘come from aways’ into their lives and provided hope and compassion to those in need.

Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Residents of Gander Oz Fudge & Brian Mosher joined Joe Hildebrand on Afternoons to describe the real-life events.
