Ray Hadley has revealed the details of a recent melanoma scare during an interview about a world first cancer treatment tool. 

Ray spoke of a lesion on his leg that grew and bled, resulting in a visit to a clinician and a subsequent biopsy.

“I’d been waiting for a couple of weeks to find out what the next step was …  I was a bit edgy about it,” he said.

“You wouldn’t believe it, this morning … I get a text, it’s not a melanoma.”

Ray’s story was shared during a chat with cancer researcher Professor Georgina Long about a breakthrough tool that will help with melanoma treatment.

The new calculator will allow clinicians to predict with greater certainty a patient’s response to immunotherapy.

“It’s like a boxing match where you can’t anticipate when the next left uppercut comes in … this way we can,” Ms Long said.’
