Ray Hadley stunned by ‘ridiculous’ proposal for rock fishermen

Mark Levy

Ray Hadley has blasted a proposal to allow rock fishermen to wear wetsuits instead of lifejackets.

State Labor expressed support for a Shooters, Fishers and Farmers private member’s bill to amend the Rockfishing Safety Act to allow people to wear a wetsuit instead of a lifejacket when fishing at high-risk locations.

Ray contacted Labor leader Chris Minns with concerns the amendment would put rock fishermen at risk.

“They’ll still drown, but at least they’ll be warm when they go into the water with their wetsuit!” Ray told his Morning Show listeners.

“I have never, ever heard something as ridiculous as this!”
