Governor-General’s ‘inappropriate’ comment at Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Ben Fordham comments

Governor-General David Hurley is being accused of making insensitive comments while representing Australia at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

When asked by reporters about the possibility of Australia becoming a republic he said, “I think at the moment people centre on the Queen, and then when she goes, when she passes, then the succession comes in, there’s a new discussion in Australia.”

Ben Fordham says, “We shouldn’t be talking about the Queen passing away when she’s well and truly alive.”
