Fee-free TAFE spots to help ease labour shortage

Michael McLaren

Free TAFE training is on the cards for tens of thousands of people in NSW amid a worker shortage.

It can be revealed that 70,000 more people will get fee-free training as part of this month’s budget.

NSW Skills and Training Minister Alister Henskens told Deborah Knight this is on top of an initial 170,000 fee-free traineeships.

“These 70,000 fee-free courses include a whole lot of shorter courses so that people will be able to rapidly come into the labour market.”
