EPA backflips: Waste price hike ditched
The NSW Environment Protection Authority has ditched a testing crackdown that would have seen the price of waste disposal rise by five times the current rate.
Ben Fordham Live led a campaign against the testing crackdown that skip bin owners said would increase the cost of a 3 cubic metre container from $440 to $2,100.
Following consultation with industry, the EPA has abandoned the changes.
Skip bin owner Craig told Ben Fordham it’s “fantastic” news.
“Hopefully, this news will filter through to these big tips and they’ll continue the system how it was previously.”
