Where Are They Now: Mark Tookey

Continuous Call Team

Known as one of the hardest-hitting props in the NRL Mark Tookey had quite the career for the New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels.

Tookey starred in the 2002 season and was a key contributor in taking the squad to the NRL Grand Final but ultimately lost to the Sydney Roosters.

Following his retirement as a player, Tookey was the assistant coach of the Tongan side in 2009.

Mark Tookey told the Continuous Call Team he was lucky to have a great playing career saying he had “so much pride in the jersey”.

Crediting a tough game in the 2002 NRL final Tookey believed the Warriors had a real shot at winning.

“We all thought we were in for a chance here”
