Tributes flow for Shane Warne, dead at 52
Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne has passed away suddenly, aged 52.
It is believed the iconic spin bowler suffered a suspected heart attack while holidaying in Thailand overnight.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff he could not be revived,” Warne’s management confirmed in a statement.
“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
Cricket commentator Gideon Haigh told Chris Smith the news has left him “astonished”.
“Wane was a specialist in producing deliveries that no one saw coming but dying at 52 did not seem on the horizon for him.

Warne’s death comes hours after he tweeted a tribute of his own to former Australia wicket-keeper Rod Marsh.
Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate❤️
