The South African doctor who first identified the Omicron strain says she has been “pressured” to say the disease was more serious than it is by scientists and politicians the world over.

Dr Angelique Coetzee has maintained since the beginning of the first Omicron wave that the strain was mild.

But she’s told The Daily Telegraph that she has since been the target of “attacks” from internationally-based scientists and politicians for her comments.

A number of medical experts in Australia have been accused of COVID alarmism.

“Don’t give in to the scaremongers,” Ben said.
