Hydropriming; increasing crop productivity

Soaking wheat seed in liquid fertilizer days prior to sowing, could prove beneficial to farmers experiencing drier conditions.

A hydropriming trial has resulted in increases in fertilizer efficacy and increases in yield and returns to farmers by up to 32-percent.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Monash University PhD Student Nicola Thomas to hear more about the process and its benefits.
