The plan to bring back retired teachers deemed illogical

COVID-19 has made it too risky for retired teachers to come back to work.

The Premier’s plans to provide a ‘buffer’ of former teachers to help fill recent staff shortages.

But former Mathematics Teacher Terry Moriarty has told Chris O’Keefe “It’s hard to go back to work with all the COVIDĀ  concerns at the moment.”

“It’s hard to see how you would get away from it.”

Bringing back retired teachers may be harder than originally thought, as Mr Moriarty stated “once your gone, you’re gone, you stay retired.”
