Ben Fordham slams ‘broken promise’ as number of public servant ‘fat cats’ explodes

Ben Fordham

Ben Fordham has called out the state government for hiring more highly paid public servants amid a pandemic.

The Daily Telegraph has revealed 347 more senior executives were hired in 2021, with an average salary of $256,000 per year.

That’s despite the government pledging before the last election to cut the number of bureaucratic bosses on hefty salaries by 10 per cent each year.

“Can we please get our priorities right?” Ben said.

“It’s an obscene amount of money and, crucially, it’s a broken promise.

“Dominic Perrottet should be taken to task over this. Stop hiring people on big salaries … put more workers on the front line.”
