The 50th anniversary of the Tamworth Country Music Festival has been postponed until April 2022.

An announcement from the NSW Government saw festival organisers having to make the painful decision one week out from when it was due to start.

The decision will cost the region millions, with the availability of musicians and staff still to be confirmed.

Festival manager Barry Harley joins Chris O’Keefe to share how painful the decision was and what it means for the region.
