Was the easing of COVID restrictions the right thing?

Phil O'Neil

Clinton Maynard is joined by Dr Chris Moy, AMA Vice President (Australian Medical Association), for his opinion on the easing of Coronavirus restrictions that have come into effect for New South Wales and other states.

Having now reached 93.1 per cent of people fully vaccinated, NSW sees QR code check-ins scaled back to only high-risk settings and masks will only be required on public transport, planes; at airports; and indoors for front-of-house hospitality staff who are not fully vaccinated.

This follows the government previously declaring that easing of restrictions would come into effect after the state reached the 95 per cent double-dose vaccination target or December 15 – whichever came first.
