Freddy Fittler on the front foot of record-breaking junior rugby league season

NSW Blues coach Brad ‘Freddy’ Fittler is back on the hog, touring the regions to sign youngsters up for junior rugby league.

Live from Bermagui on the NSW South Coast, Freddy told Ray Hadley he reckons the 2022 season will bring a record number of new junior players, including girls.

“We’ve got clinics on every day; we had a couple of clinics yesterday which we saw hundreds of kids [attend], it was fantastic.

“Lots of … young girls want to play football, [we’re] making them aware of the options – there’s league tag, and touch footy also.

“They don’t necessarily have to dive in the deep end.”
