Hundreds of police and specialists with sophisticated equipment have returned to the site of William Tyrrell’s disappearance.

An extensive search is underway in Kendall, with police officers combing through the garden beds of William’s former home, investigating the possibility the then three-year-old fell from a balcony.

NSW Police Minister David Elliott told Jim Wilson the extra resources dedicated to the search is indicative of the strength of the new leads.

“I certainly don’t want little William’s family to be given any false sense of security or false sense of hope.

“But until we get to a conclusion, we all should have a little bit of hope.

“I can certainly let you know that there has been a little bit of a bounce in the step of senior police in the last couple of months.

“In many respects for them, this is one final push.”
