Domestic violence help soars amid Vinnies volunteer shortage

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is pleading for more volunteers amid a worker shortage.

The charity hosts about 230 shops across the state, helping those in need.

CEO Jack de Groot told Ben Fordham domestic and family violence services have increased by 20 per cent over the last few months in lockdown.

“Things are very tough for many people throughout the state.

“We lost a lot of volunteers who are older during the lockdown and we need a new generation to come in and support us.”
