Business is already booming for independent hairdressers, with some large salons taking bookings into January next year.

Lilyfield hairdresser Danielle Philip told Jim Wilson her appointments are full for at least the next month, attributing the demand to overflow from other hairdressers.

“We’re a small, little boutique salon.

“There’s a lot of people coming through, and weirdly a lot of a new people – probably for that reason, because they can’t get in elsewhere so they’re calling every salon that they can.”
