A steer is on the loose in the Lane Cove area, after breaking though one of the fences at Saint Ignatius College Riverview. 

The 12-month-old black steer was part of the school’s agricultural program and escaped last night.

The school is concerned about the welfare of the steer and for the community.

Authorities are also on the look out.
