Councillor says Trump-style wall the answer to parking complaints
An Inner West councillor has suggested a Trump-style wall be built after “hipster” residents complained about the lack of parking in front of their homes.
Councillor Julie Passas’ tongue-in-cheek motion would keep outsiders at bay with a wall that would make “passports required for non-Inner West citizens”.
Ms Passas says she is sick of “frivolous” complaints from people who have bought places without a car space but expect to park directly out the front of their home.
She tells Steve Price the issue is difficult to fix.
“[The council] has issued more parking permits than there are spaces.
“People are paying for permits and they’re not guaranteed a spot in front of their house or even their street!
“You cannot fix it.”
