With training, working dogs can be urban dogs
Kathy Kopellis McLeod, Dog Behavior Consultant, joins Luke to discuss the increasing number of high-energy working dogs residing in suburbia.
Kathy points out that a stronger awareness of their needs must be addressed as any dog whose mental and physical needs aren’t sufficiently met, will be likely candidates for behavioural issues – namely stress and anxiety.
Unfortunately, they’re increasingly being unnecessarily placed on anti-anxiety medication which can be easily avoided with effective behaviour modification strategies.
