Drought hits farm production

Rural News

Drought has seen the value of farm production fall by four percent, to $59 billion.

The national commodities forecaster found cash incomes for about 50 percent of grain growers will be lower for the current financial year.

While dairy farmers saw their incomes down by 44 percent.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with ABARES Chief Commodity Analyst Peter Gooday.
